Alexander was born on 1/25/2011 at 9:20pm. He was 6 pounds, 10 ounces and 19 inches long. Contractions started at 2am, went to the hospital at 6am, only 1.5 dilated and 80% effaced. After 3 hours, was sent home to see if labor would progress. Contractions went all day long and increased by nighttime. Around 7pm, contractions were really coming quick and I wanted to push. Steve got me to the hospital as fast as he could. Once at the hospital, contractions were 3 minutes apart. I was 6 centimeters dilated and 100% effaced. Within 20 minutes my water broke and I was at 9 centimeters. Another 2 contractions and I was pushing. Thank goodness it went fast, did not have any medication. Alex was just looking at us as they laid him on my belly, he was so alert. He is the cutest baby I have ever seen.
