Pictures

I decided to do a separate post with all the pictures
because there are a lot of them. The pictures are out of order
but here you go, the last 3 months.

My wonderful Mother in law taught me how to
make receiving blanket for two baby showers
I went to in October. They were very
easy to make and a lot of fun.

Here is my Christmas wreath. I am
proud of how it turned out. It goes with our
red door too!

For those of you who do not know,
we have adopted one of Mykie's
cats. He was being beaten up
by the other cats at his mom's house.
His name is Ninja. Honey and
the cat love to pay together. Honey gets
very jealous though. She is trying to kick the cat
off the bed. She usually wins.

They do like each other.

Here is Ninja under the Christmas tree.

Winter in October

Fall was like maybe two weeks and
then we had snow. Gotta love Colorado.

We had a lot of leaves. In fact,
we are still trying to get rid of
the bags.

Garden of the Gods

The end of October, Steve sister Melissa & Brody (her baby)
came to visit us. Sue (Steve's Mom) came to help
us with babysitting that week while Melissa worked in Denver.
That weekend we took them to Colorado Springs, The Garden of
the Gods. It is a very pretty place to see all the pretty
red rock formations.

Melissa's baby Brody. He is so cute!
He is also the best dressed baby you
will ever see.

I made this big pillow for Honey.
It's a pillow with Fleece pillow case.
I put buttons on one side so I can take it off
to wash it. This is me trying to be crafty.

Our first snow came early in October.

We found these cool forts on our hike.
Just perfect for Mykie to hide in.

I decided I am not very good at blogging. I like to read friends blogs and see what is going on in there lives but forget to update mine. I realized it's been since August that I have posted anything. I decided it was time for an update! It took me awhile to upload all the pictures and that is when I realized I really should update my blog more often. I have posted a second post with all our pictures.

Labor Day we went camping at Kenosha Pass with friends. We had fun hiking, roasting marshmallows, and just hanging out. We went on a hike were we found cool forts that were made out of logs and a cool look out point. I think we finally found a good camp groud we want to go back to. It only took us 2 years. It's called Kenosha Pass. The nice thing is there's a lot to do and close to us but fall enough away.
September 11, 09, Steve's cousin got married in Seattle. We flew up there for the wedding. Steve was photographing the wedding with his mom and her partner Karina. I was helping them, well trying to. I am learning the ropes of photography as we continue to try and build our business in Colorado. This way I can help Steve, I am even trying to learn to take better pictures. Which I might add is pretty fun and addicting.

In October, I had a lot of fun decorating our house for Halloween and handing our candy. Everything is new when you buy a house and I was way excited.
10/21/2009-Steve and I celebrated out 3rd anniversary. I can not believe we have been married for 3 years. Time flys by so fast. We made dinner at our home and gave each other a small gift. It was fun to watch our wedding video and reflect upon that day. If anyone knows, after buying a house you are broke. It was still a very fun day.

In November, Steve turned the BIG 30! Steve' parents flew all of us up to Seattle to spend his birthday with all the family. We worked up on Saturday, had breakfast with the whole family. Then we went bowling. We were surprised when Steve's oldest sister Melissa was there. We did not know she was coming. After bowling we came back to his parents house and went for a motorcycle ride. It was very cold but worth it. Then we had dinner and opened presents. We also celebrate two other birthdays, his nieces and cousins. Later that night we played games with family and some of Steve's friends that came over. His parents sure know how to throw a party.
Before we knew it, Thanksgiving was here. I cooked again this year, which I was very excited to do. I always cook the turkey too soon but everything turned out good. We had our friends the Seavy's over for dinner. Then we watched Christmas movies. It fun to spend the holidays with friends, especially if you don't have family around.
Now it is Christmas, two weeks away. With all the hassle and bessel of Christmas shopping I am glad we are pretty much done. Now I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit, I have had a hard time the last 2 years but I am trying to remember what it is all about. I am looking forward to driving to Utah to spend time with my family for New Years., it's been 2 years since I have been home. Hopefully I will get some pictures up from our trip before February. HEHEHE

2 Month Update

I wanted to just give a quick update since I have not posted anything on my blog for almost over two months now. It seems once you buy a house everyone wants to come see you. Not that I mind this but we have had a lot of company these last few months, which is why I have not posted in a while. We first had my grandma who came the last week in May, we had fun taking her to boulder and walking around Pearl Street. We love to go to Boulder because it is the greenest place we have found in Colorado, why we love it. Then Steve's brother Jake came for a weekend. Then we had my sister and her boyfriend for a weekend while they attended a class in Denver. We had fun playing the wii and Mario cart tell midnight almost every night. The last week in July I flew out to St. George, Utah for Krista's wedding! I was so excited to be there and to help with everything. I threw her a bridal shower, which was a challenge not living in the same state but with the help of her new mother in law and her mom we were able to pull it off and had a great time. The wedding was beautiful and I am so excited for her.
The next week was mine and Mykie's birthdays. August is always a big month for us with two birthdays. Steve was off work with Mykie all week. My mother in law came into town on my birthday. She took all of us to the movies and to my favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden. She also bought me some beautiful flowers. She spoils me too much. Thank you Sue. Steve and Mykie surprised me by making me a birthday cake. Steve does not bake, so I was very excited he tried for me. They made my birthday very special. My dad and sister came on Thursday and stayed for the weekend. This is the first time my dad has been out to see me and I was very excited. This made my birthday even better.
Saturday was Mykie's birthday, we celebrated at Boondocks and later that night took both our families to the Rockies game. It was a busy weekend but it was so good to spend time with all our family. The pictures are out of order, like usual, but are some pictures from all our events.

Our House!

It took me a while to get these pictures posted because I kept trying to get the house finished before I posted any. Then I realized it would take me a lot longer than I thought. I have unpacked most of the boxes but still have not hung any picture yet. I guess it has only been 3 weeks since we closed. I am the kind of person that would like it done right away, so it drives me nuts. I have having fun in the process though. I never knew how much work went into owning a home, but it is totally worth it! :) We love our home!

Here is a good picture of the house with leaves on the trees and not
a "for sale" sign in the front yard.

A different angel of the house.

The backyard.

You can kind of see were there is a place to walk down, this area is a garden area. We have already planted corn and pumpkins!

Shed and planter boxes. I would like to take these
planter boxes out but I will wait until next year.

Side of the house. This is a double sided garage.

The deck, come out from the kitchen.

Going upstairs. These pictures are a little out of order.

Family room, upstairs. That big brown bag on the side is a "love sack".
Takes up the whole room. Very comfortable.

Steve got me roses for Mother's Day.

Kitchen table, very messy. I took this picture when we first moved it.

Laundry room.

Other side of laundry room.

Hallway leading to the laundry room.

Downstairs family room/kids play room.

Second bathroom.

Mykie's room.

Kitchen. Thankfully we were able to get matching appliances. Looks much better with the appliances. If any of you saw this house before we bought it, the kitchen was full of holes were the appliances went. We also took down the wallpaper and painted the room "brown tope color. I love it.

Second bedroom. Mykie had to get in the picture. He was having fun if you can't tell.

Master bathroom, Jet tub. I love taking baths and it just go better.

Honey

HONEY

This is Honey laying next to Steve on the Love Sack.

My sister got me a love sack for Christmas and I was finally able to set it up. This is Honey's favorite place to lay. She thinks it is her own big pillow. :)

We have added a new member to our family, her name is Honey. She is a female yellow lab mix. We have been waiting to adopt a dog for a long time now but wanted to wait until we got a house. Honey is a very sweet dog and is starting to show her personality every day. She is timid at first but once she gets use to you she is very loveable. We got her from a shelter called "The dumb friends league". Honey was only at the shelter for one month. We have had her for almost two weeks now. She loves to burry her bones in the back yard and loves her belly rubbed just like any other dog. She is a beautiful dog and we love her.

P.S. House pictures to come.

We Are Homeowners!!!!

Yesterday we finally closed on our house! Closing went great and we no longer have any savings once we buy our appliances. Buying a house makes you go completely broke. I guess that is part of the journey.
Previous drama: Last week, we were suppose to close on Friday. Steve and I had all our plans of painting on Saturday and going out to eat on Friday after we closed. We found out last Monday afternoon there was a piece of paper the seller bank needed to sign before we were closed and they've had the paperwork for over a week now. In order to close by Friday we needed that paperwork back by Tuesday morning. The seller bank is in Washington D. C. and this is not the first time they have sat on paperwork. Well, after our realtor and financial lady from our bank called them we finally got that paper Tuesday afternoon. Well, the seller bank required they have 48 hours to look over the closing paperwork. Our hope of closing on Friday went out the door. We had to cancel reservations and plans. We were stressed because we have to be out of our apartment by April 30th and have to move this weekend. We thought if we did not close this week then we would have to back out of the deal or we would be homeless. Well, we signed an extension for Wednesday at 1p. Then they said we were possible could close Tuesday at 11a as long as we could get everything in from the seller bank. We did not get our hopes up. The title company worked with different people at the seller bank and were able to get everything in on time to close Tuesday.
We are so excited, it almost does not feel real we just bought a house. We really had a good realtor who fought for us until the very end with the seller bank and Wellsfargo was awesome with our loan and getting an low interest rate. We could not be happier. My in laws are in town to help us get the house ready and buy appliances. Which is so helpful because both Steve and I have to work. No vacation time left.
I will post pictures soon. Yeah! We own a house! :)

CLOSING

After a long wait, we are nearing our closing date, April 17th. We are very excited and have been patiently waiting for this time. Cross your fingers everything goes well. Hopefully nothing small will stop us from closing like our full names not being spelled out. LOL It amazes me the attention of detail that goes into buying a house, especially at this time.
When I look back at our buying a house experience I think for the most part it has been good. It did not come without a lot of stress, worry, and anxiety but we made it through. We can't wait tell the house is ours and we can begin to make it our home. We plan to paint next Saturday and clean carpets once the paint it dried. The next week my in-laws plan to come and help us move in! I am so excited for them to be here to help us out. Home depot has already become our new favorite store, its like the new Walmart! :) Someone at work told me that the other day and it is so true. We have pre-closing jitters to deal with this week and then we are on our way to starting our adventure in becoming homeowners!!
