The beginning of April we decided to go on a day hike. I was a little nervous just because Alex is still so small. We decided to use some money from our tax return to buy a Kelty backpack for him. It was the best purchase ever. I have a hard time getting him to stay in any kind of backpack/carrier. He loved it in there and I even use it around the house to clean and cook dinner. As long as I am moving around he is happy. The hike was 2 miles up. I had to take a lot of breaks along the way because I am not in very good shape since having Alex. This was a good way to get into shape and lose some baby weight. He ended up sleeping the whole time, I was suprised becaue we were hiking for about 3 hours. He woke up just as we were down the mountain. Steve took a video when we made it to the top. There was also a train that was running on the other side of the mountain that was really cool to see when we got to the top. We had a good time.

2 months old
Alex turned 2 months old on 3/25/2011. I can not believe how fast the time has gone. Here is an update on Alex. He is starting to wear 0-3 months cloths. He loves to suck on his hands. He will smile at you and make cooing sounds. He is more aware and loves to look around. He is beginning to like musical toys. He likes to grasp your hands and is starting to pull on my cloths. He hangs onto me while I am holding him. He is not sleeping through the night yet but does have a consistant schedule. He falls asleep between 7pm and 8pm. He will then sleep until Midnight or 1am. Then it is every 2 hours or every hour after that. I am hoping within the next month he will begin to sleep from 7pm to 2am or 3am. Also, I am hoping to get him in the crib. That would be really nice. He still loves to be swadled and rocked to sleep. He loves to stand up and loves movement. 2 month check up: This last Monday was his 2 month check up. I was really nervous because I knew it was time to start his shots. He is 10 pounds, 12 ouncse and 22 inches long. He screamed very loud when he got the shots but he did really well with them. The next day he was smiling and in a good mood. You could tell his legs were sore though. I put some random pictures of him that are a little outdated. I will post new ones on my next post. Now that I put these picture on my blog, makes me realize how big he had gotten.
Since our second bedroom is downstairs we made his nursery in our room. I am just glad our room is big enough. I put a picture of what his nursery looks like. It works out really well.

Alex's Blessing
I know I am a little behind but here are some pictures of the blessing. Unfortunately, we did not get a family shot with him. We blessed Alex on 3/6/2011. My aunt made the blue blanket for Alex. Steve's parents came that weekend for the blessing. It was really neat and I am grateful for the priesthood my husband holds.

1 month old
I can not believe how fast time has gone and Alex is already a month old. He still does not have a sleep schedule. Tried working on him sleeping in a crib and that has not worked out yet. He wakes up about every 2 hours to feed at night. Lets just say I am not getting a lot of sleep. He likes the swing for a little bit and then starts crying. He will sleep in his swing for about 1/2 hr to an hour. (If put in there when he is already asleep). He is still getting used to it. He still has days and nights mixed up, sleeps good during the day usually. I am hoping this gets better this next month. It feels like I will never sleep again but I know I will, it might be a while though. Steve will gives me a break at night and will take Alex for a few hours so I can get some sleep. That is the only way I am making it through.
Alex loves his hands and is starting to get big. He loves to smile and laugh in his sleep. He is starting to smile at us a little bit. I can not wait until he starts to smile and laugh more. He loves to be held and rocked to sleep. These are my favorite times, I love to snuggle with him.
Alex is getting better at changing his diaper and cloths. He used to cry his had off but he is doing better now. He is also starting to enjoy bath time.
The dogs love him. Honey is very protective and Abby is just curious about him.
Alex is doing well at church so far. He ends up sleeping all the way through it. I am hoping he will do that this next Sunday because I have to teach young women's.
I am excited to see how much he changes this month. Crossing my fingers he will start to sleep longer periods at night.

Alexander's first photo shoot
My mother in law flew down from Seattle the day after Alex was born. I had him on Tuesday evening and she was here by Wednesday morning. It was so fun to have her and I feel lucky that not only am I married to a photographer but my mother in law has her own photography business and one of her specialties is babies. We decided to do a photo shoot 2 days after he was born. He does have a little yellow complexion due to a little bit of jaundice. Here are some photos that were taken. It's funny because after I posted these I can see how much he has grown in just a month.
